About this Event
Our invitation goes out to you — to be part of this.
Many Hands Market is a gathering of creative businesses, rural growers and farmers, crafters and makers, and anyone drawn to a more local, inventive, hands-on way of living. We're here to rouse interest in natural building, growing, art and craft — with fun, with action, and with all the interesting and quirky people we can find.
We believe that by gathering as a community, we can show there are many ways to meet like-minded people, stretch our sense of what's attainable, become a little more self-reliant, and discover the unique skills each of us carries — some of them not yet realised, explored, or even imagined.
This is the first of our taster events, workshops, and action-oriented gatherings: places to meet new people and new ideas, to learn, and to come away with something rewarding in your hands. Any form of practical engagement reinforces memory, stirs the senses, and brings that quiet feeling of fulfilment, reward, and — most of all — joy.
It's a small recipe for transformation, both individual and collective, at a time that feels interesting and challenging for many.
Let's paint our own unique pathway to the future.
What you'll find on the day
A circle of local growers, makers and healers — smallholders, herbalists, weavers, woodworkers, beekeepers — each bringing what they grow, make, or heal with.
Demonstrations and workshops you can join: sowing seeds, spinning wool, preserving the harvest. Hands-on, no fuss, all welcome.
Real food, slowly made — raw produce, surplus from local kitchens, fresh juices, honey, wholesome things to taste and to take home.
Live acoustic music as the day softens. A small bonfire at golden hour to mark the longest day. A children's corner and an ice cream van for the little ones.
Who it's for
Families, the curious, the hands-on, the open-minded — and the quirky, the inventive, the ones with an idea they haven't tried yet. People who care where their food comes from, who like to make things, who want to meet the growers and makers near them. Bring the children, bring a friend, bring nothing but yourself.
