The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year, a one time per year energy much like a new moon. It is a time of internal reflection with a potential for deep intention setting. We will start with some gentle movement, then settle into meditation to drop from the intellectual headspace down into the wisdom of the body, connecting into the heart’s true longings. We will give gratitude for the past year, and through a series of prompts, come away with clear intentions for 2025.
There will be space and time for community and sharing, but no sharing is required. Please bring a journal and pen. No prior experience needed- all are welcome.
Bio:
Maria Gabriela Guevara is a certified Ayurvedic Wellness Coach, a doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.), a 200 hour certified yoga teacher, and founder of Intuitive Ayurveda. She specializes in helping women prepare for, celebrate, and manage the transition into menopause. The eastern and western perspectives of medicine each have something to offer us, and Maria Gabriela understands this dance. Her goal is to educate on Ayurvedic tools that can (and should) be individualized to each complex person. She strives to help her clients tune into the messages their bodies are sending them. Ultimately, she believes that every person is the expert on what is best for them, and can be empowered to hone in on which tools they need to support themselves in mind, body, and spirit.
