Managing High Stakes Disputes: When Arbitration Feels Like Litigation (CLE)

A dynamic discussion on arbitration and advocacy—designed for attorneys and law students.
About this Event

Arbitration is designed to be a streamlined, cost-effective alternative to traditional litigation. However, in high-stakes commercial disputes, the process often morphs into "litigation light," characterized by extensive discovery demands, aggressive motion practice, and protracted hearings.

This CLE program is co-hosted and sponsored by the South Asian Bar Association of South Florida and the American Arbitration Association. It provides a comprehensive "360-degree view" of complex arbitration, featuring perspectives from the advocate, the arbitrator, and the arbitral institution (AAA). Attendees will learn practical strategies to rein in runaway arbitrations, effectively utilize AAA Commercial and Construction Large Complex Case (LCC) rules, and navigate the specific ethical duties and disclosure requirements that arise when high-stakes arbitration mimics litigation.

Whether you are a litigator, transactional attorney, in-house counsel, or early-career practitioner, this program offers valuable perspective on the evolving role of arbitration.

Light refreshments will be provided.
