CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Turn everyday serving into art in this lively, hands-on mosaic workshop! In this beginner-friendly class, you’ll design and create a beautiful mosaic serving tray that’s perfect for coffee, cocktails, appetizers, or simply displaying as functional art.
Guided by Mizz Mozaic, you’ll learn the basics of mosaic making using the direct method - how to safely cut mosaics, work with colorful tiles, and arrange pieces into a stunning design before gluing them into place. It’s an approachable and relaxing creative process that allows you to play with color, pattern, and texture.
Have a special plate you’ve been saving? Bring it along and incorporate it into your design for a meaningful touch. We’ll also have plenty of materials available, including over 100 varieties of mosaic tesserae and repurposed ceramics to inspire your creativity.
Because mosaic making is a two-step process, your tray will go home with you to dry before the final step. Before you leave, Mizz Mozaic will demonstrate how to grout your mosaic, and you’ll receive written instructions and access to a helpful video tutorial to guide you through completing your piece at home.
No experience necessary, just bring your creativity and enjoy the process.

You’ll leave with a beautifully designed tray ready for its final step - and soon a handmade piece you’ll love using or displaying.

From opening her first pop-up studio in downtown Historic Herndon to studying at the Chicago Mosaic School and hand-cutting marble in Athens, Greece ~ Jenlene brings heart and vibrant energy to everything she creates.
