About this Event
In this 2 day workshop, students will build a popular slat-style outdoor bench that will look handsome in your garden or on your deck.
This is a 6-hour workshop over 2 days on June 13th AND 14th from 10am to 1pm. Please make sure you can attend both sessions.
Designed for beginners, this class focuses on developing practical woodworking skills in an approachable way, while guiding students through the basic steps of cutting and assembling a functional piece of outdoor furniture.
By the end of the class, each student will leave with a completed full-size garden bench, ready for outdoor stains and finishes which you can apply at home. You’ll build confidence in using basic power tools and leave with some foundational skills you can use to continue to explore woodworking projects on your own.
Class size limit 6 people.
NOTES:
a) Workshops are transferable to another person and only refundable if we have people on the waiting list who can take your spot. Please make sure this date works with your schedule.
b) Member-rate tickets are reserved for current Ottawa Tool Library members. If a non-member registers at the member rate, we will follow up to collect the price difference plus a $15 administrative fee.
c) If you are registering for a young person, please note that children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket for the same workshop. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in many of our workshops (other than Tinkering School and some demo nights).
