About this Event
Give a tired shirt or a blank canvas a whole new life with color. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn tie dye techniques and use them to transform a garment you already own — or prep a custom textile to use as upholstery fabric in BBR's poof reupholstery class. It's creative, it's colorful, and it's a great way to celebrate Pride month with a rainbow of your own making.
What We’ll Cover
🌈 Choose and apply tie dye patterns to fabric using folding and binding techniques
🎨 Mix and layer dye colors for bold, intentional designs
♻️ Reimagine a worn or plain garment as something worth keeping
🛋️ Prep a custom dyed canvas ready for upholstery or a home project
Make and Take Home
You'll leave with a one-of-a-kind dyed textile — whether that's a freshly rainbowed shirt, a revived garment you brought from home, or a vibrant canvas ready to become the star of BBR's poof reupholstery class.
Come Prepared
Bring a garment or piece of fabric you'd like to dye — a white or light-colored cotton item works best (a t-shirt, tote bag, or canvas panel are all great options). If you're planning to use your piece in BBR's poof reupholstery class, bring enough fabric to cover a small ottoman or poof.
No dyeing experience needed — all skill levels welcome!
