Delivered at Trail Explorer Cycle Works, you’ll be learning in a fully equipped workshop with small group sizes to ensure plenty of individual support.

No previous experience is required.
Learning Environment
The course is delivered in a relaxed, supportive workshop environment where questions and discussion are encouraged throughout.
Everyone learns at a different pace, and you’ll be guided step-by-step to build your confidence as you go.
Qualification & Assessment
This course is delivered as a MIAS Level 1–3 Cycle FIT Maintenance qualification.
Your final level (Level 1, 2, or 3) is awarded based on your performance during the practical assessment at the end of the course.
This means you can:
-Start with no prior experience
-Progress at your own pace
-Achieve the highest level your skills demonstrate
What You’ll Learn
By the end of this 2-day course, you will be able to:
-Carry out a full fault-finding assessment on a bicycle
-Safely and correctly use a workstand
-Remove and refit wheels, tyres, and inner tubes
-Adjust and service a cup and cone hub
-True a wheel laterally and replace a broken spoke
-Service and set up cable-operated brake systems
-Gain an understanding of hydraulic brake systems, including common issues and when bleeding is required
-Adjust and maintain a derailleur gear system
-Remove and replace a full drivetrain
-Service and maintain a bottom bracket
-Service and adjust a bicycle headset
-Set up saddle, handlebars, and controls for optimal rider comfort
