About this Event
Mahjong is a four-player, tile-based gamedeveloped in China during the mid-to-late 19th century, likely in the Yangtze River Delta. It evolved from older card games, combining elements of skill, strategy, and luck, and rapidly spread globally in the 1920s. Known for its distinctive, rattling tiles—often called "sparrows"—it has since diverged into various regional styles, including Chinese classical, Japanese Riichi, and American Mahjong.
