Magical March Sip & Swap Clothing Exchange!

Hi Friends!
I am trying to map out the next few months of my life, and thought that it would be great to put a little Sip & Swap on our calendars/give us time to do a "deep dive" into our closets/have a fun thing to put on the books at the beginning of the year!
***we will plan to drop off all of your goodies at "our spot" (at the "community table" in the back by the bar/stairs/side-entrance—and then go grab "nom noms" at one of the many magical restaurants ("The Joint" being my personal favorite!) & we can start swapping around 11:15 (particularly considering I don't get out of yoga until 10:45, and have to drive/park... but also— I recognize that starting at 11:15 feels "weird"/people run late— so I am going to put 11am on the invite)!
For those of you who may be participating for the first time...
'Tis Better to Donate Than Accumulate... come join some lovely ladies for a Clothing Swap-A-Roo-Ski!
Upycling, good friends, music, laughter, new wardrobe— what's not to like?
I know that I am not the only one who irrationally holds on to articles of clothing that I will never wear again.
For whatever reason, many of us hold on to clothes that don't fit, things that aren't our style, and outdated sweaters (that we would never be caught in public with) like they are some sort of security blanket. We hold onto these articles, justifying their presence on the off chance that they MIGHT (but probably won't) come into use.
Participating in a clothing swap is great way to connect with friends, recycle, donate, and get some new clothes for “free-99”
Step One: Set a date (already done!)
Step Two: I am asking you to do some soul searching... or at least some closet revamping
Come on over. Help me out— Bring your unwanted goodies (clothes, shoes, accessories, other family member's clothes— kids, significant others, roommates...)—the more you let go of, the bigger the clothing pile! *(which translates to greater wardrobe options, and a more sizable charitable donation at the end of the event) ***ALL shapes and sizes welcome! Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to how their clothes to fit; some like it snug, while others enjoy loose "flowy" layers (not to mention the fact that a roomy dress can easily be cinched in with a great belt, and accessories work for everyone!)
Bring your unloved laundered clothing and accessories & get ready to nosh and swap *it is called a "Sip and Swap" party after all ;)
Step Three: Eat. Drink. & Shwop!
I will play Vanna White for the event, so that it is not dogpile ;)
Step Four: Donate
I will give our leftovers to The Hasnger program at CASA
Step Five: Plan our next clothing swap.
I have found that it takes attending more than one of these to REALLY TRULY look through your closet with an honest critical eye, and let go of what you don't need. Plus, this is a "green", sustainable, fun way to change up our look on a more frequent basis.
PS: The more the merrier! Feel free/encouraged to bring your lady-friends/girlfriends/coworkers etc!
PSS: some more info on CASA/ some items they would particularly appreciate...
What is The Hanger?
It's a simple concept that most of us take for granted, but for a foster kid, being able to choose and wear your own clothes builds self-esteem. The Hanger is a store in the CASA office where foster teens can shop for donated clothing, shoes, school supplies, toiletries, and accessories free of charge.
In addition to shopping, teens have opportunities to help operate the store which provides them with valuable work experience. Many foster teens have no job experience, making it difficult to find employment when they turn 18 and age out of the system.
What can I donate to The Hanger?
New or gently used adult-sized clothing, shoes, and accessories in current teen styles and brands
NEW and full-sized personal hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cologne or perfume, nail polish, hairbrushes/combs, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.
NEW socks and underwear; bras can be new or gently used
Please make sure items are appropriate for the current season. They start to collect warm-weather clothing mid-February and cold-weather clothing mid-September.
They CANNOT accept luggage, furniture, household items, decorations, out-of-season clothing, clothing in children's sizes, and clothing not in good shape (holes, rips, stains, odors).
