To mark this year’s Earth Day 🌍 Pickle Club and Magic Lantern Film Club have organised a special film screening of THE HAPPY MAN TREE (McGahan, 2023) at Track Brewery Taproom, along with delicious food prepared by Mud Kitchen 🌳
As property developers plan to fell a 150-year old London Plane tree in Stoke Newington, local residents take direct action to prevent the erasure of their neighbourhood’s ecological history ✊ Documented by Katy McGahan The Happy Man Tree is a story of community perseverance and resistance in the face of diminishing urban green spaces, leading to the formation of the #NoticeThisTree campaign. We’re utterly pleased to say Katy will be with us for a post-screening Q&A, and joining her will be representatives from Trees Not Cars, a Manchester-based campaign striving to convert the former retail park in Ancoats into a public green space 🎤 All box office payments will go directly to Trees Not Cars in support of their campaign and all food purchases to MUD Kitchen, contributing to their activities in Fallowfield 🤝
