As she prepares to release her debut poetry collection, Brittany Barker-Waweru invites you on a journey with her through the process of exploring the power of the “middle”—that vulnerable, in-between space where healing, growth, and transformation take root.
Through storytelling, poetry, and live musical collaboration, Brittany invites her audience into a layered reflection on emotional recovery, resilience, and becoming. This performance accompanied by music and creative surprises, will inspire self-reflection and the desire to get right within.

Magic in the Middle is a one-woman poetry show and interactive experience that tracks Brittany Barker’s journey to recovery. The show follows her experiences and inner thoughts as she poetically-processes her emotional history and uncovers how years of wounds, wins and wonder have influenced who she is today. Magic In The Middle explores the invaluable learning that happens in the liminal space: the middle places between where we’re coming from and where we’re going. A twenties kind of coming-of-age. Woven throughout are never-heard-before work, along with selected poems from her debut chapbook Wound Honey.
