Maeve Grieve is a Melbourne-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist blending jazz, folk, and alternative rock into a fearless, genre-defying sound. Originally from Burnie, Tasmania, her music combines intricate guitar work with evocative, narrative-driven songwriting.Her debut EP, Midnight Commute (released November 13, 2024) resonated strongly with audiences, with its launch show at The Gaso Upstairs selling out and receiving airplay and features across Melbourne and national radio.
A first-class graduate of the Jazz and Improvisation Honours program at The University of Melbourne, Maeve’s artistry is shaped by deep musical study and fearless innovation. Her work has already been recognised with significant accolades, including the New Frontiers Award at the 2023 Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival and the 2024 LUMINA Composition Award.
In 2025, Maeve’s career continues to gather momentum. She was recently named one of three national finalists in the Emerging Artist category at the Australian Women in Music Awards, with the winner to be announced in October. This milestone will coincide with her first solo tour throughout the East Coast in Spring, introducing her songs to new audiences in intimate settings. Soon after, she will open for Australian icon Liz Stringer at the Corner Hotel in November, before returning to the stage at the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival in December.
Maeve continues to push the boundaries of songwriting and performance. Her captivating live shows and distinct artistic voice position her as one of the most exciting new presences in Australian music.
