SZOU
After a performance at Maida Vale for the BBC and a string of plays on BBC Radio 1, electrifying alt-pop duo Szou are establishing themselves as one the most exciting bands in recent years. Sitting somewhere between the electro sensibilities of The 1975 and the foot-stomping power rock of The Killers, their lyrics offer a playful perspective on the intricacies of modern life, exploring topics from “hangxiety” to female pleasure. Fusing lush guitar riffs, fizzing synth lines and soulful harmonies, Szou aim to create stadium anthems from their home studio in North London.
Szou were named ‘Ones to Watch’ for London in 2023 by Gigwise magazine and have received recognition from Atwood Magazine, 1883, Jodie Bryant, Far Out and on BBC Introducing radio stations. Szou are set to release their debut EP in November of this year and take 2025 by storm.
David Russell is a singer-songwriter, currently studying in South East London.
Inspired greatly by the sounds of country music, he merges heartbreaking topics with funny yet relatable lyrics.
His original songs are a clear reflection of personal experiences, and offer a unique perspective on the ups and downs life throws at us all.
Danny Wymbs is a singer-songwriter/wannabe comedian based in Greenwich. He plays regularly with his band, an energetic alternative rock band inspired by the great British bands of the past (Beatles, Oasis, Kinks etc). His writing has a focus on 60s pop/rock melodic writing with elements of the Britpop spirit of the 90s sprinkled in. Danny is a graduate of Trinity Laban(as of December) and is currently working on his EP which is scheduled to be released early next year.
