Three Avenues Bookshop & the Center for Mad Culture are teaming up to host Mad Social Hour during Mental Health Awareness Month.

When: Tuesday, May 5 at 6:30 pm (doors open at 6:15 pm)

Where: Three Avenues Bookshop - 3009 N Southport Ave, Chicago, IL 60657


Mad Social Hour at Three Avenues Bookshop will create a space for folks to gather, meet one another, chat, connect, and just be. Light refreshments will be provided. There will be a book display featuring titles by and about madness in-store for folks to browse/purchase. Three Avenues Bookshop will donate 10% of all purchases made during the event to The Center for Mad Culture.



This event is open to everyone, of course, with a focus on folks with mad identity. 's events celebrate the creativity, resilience, and history of mad identity. From exhibitions and performances to discussions and workshops, each gathering offers a space to challenge psychiatric oppression, reclaim mad narratives, and build community. Whether you come to witness, create, or connect, our events invite you to engage with madness as culture—alive, radical, and unapologetic.
