The MacArthur ReunionLet me take you back…
Remember walking into MacArthur for the first time? The school felt massive, the lockers were confusing, and the upperclassmen had entirely too much swagger. Then the rhythm hit: Friday night lights, the band blasting the fight song until your ears rang, pep rallies, and that specific brand of "finals week" stress.
Our soundtrack was a chaotic mix of “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” “Baby Got Back,” and “Vogue.” We wore flannels over Nirvana tees, watched Saved by the Bell reruns, and made promises that we’d stay close forever.
After the games, we hit the legendary spots:
• The Lot: For questionable decisions.
• The Tree: For deep talks and warm beer.
• Park Avenue: Cruising to “Jump” or “Under the Bridge.”
• Cottonwood Park: Blankets, boomboxes, and "sophisticated" cocktails.
By "sophisticated," I mean Mad Dog 20/20, Boone’s Farm, and that trashcan punch spiked with Everclear—cheap rocket fuel that tasted like hairspray and knocked you out fast. Why? Because we were broke and convinced we were geniuses.
Then, life happened.
“I Will Always Love You” played at graduation, and suddenly the fast-forward button got stuck. College, jobs, marriages, kids, dad bods, and gray hair. We lost touch. We lost people—too many gone too soon.
We all wish we’d kept those high school friends closer. We all wish we could feel that energy again—not every day (our backs couldn't take it), but just one more time.
The Plan:
No boring speeches. No awkward slideshows. Just the "remember when" stories, the snort-laughs, and the long-overdue hugs. We’re meeting at The Shop Club—it’s the grown-up version of Cottonwood Park, but with legit parking and a bar that doesn't involve plastic tubs.

The Challenge
I am issuing a formal challenge: Bring your best high school story. I guarantee someone there has a version of that same story that includes the parts you’ve conveniently "forgotten."
Come as you are. Flannel is optional; old photos are highly encouraged. Tag a friend in the comments who still owes you for half a bottle of Boone’s Farm.
