The Luton Turkish Festival is a much-loved annual event in the UK, celebrating the rich culture, traditions, and values of Türkiye. Once again, we are excited to welcome you for a joyful day full of culture, food, and community spirit.
Organised by the Luton Turkish Education and Culture Centre, with the support of our sponsors, TurkFest brings together people from all backgrounds to enjoy the colourful world of Turkish culture.
There is something for everyone to enjoy, including:
• Delicious Turkish food and regional specialities
• Mehter band (Ottoman military band) performances
• A traditional Oba tent showcasing Ottoman history, beys, and alps
• Ottoman-style costumes, handmade textiles, and Ebru (marbling) art
• Fun animation shows with children’s favourite characters
• Turkish classical music, including ney and oud performances
• Live shows by traditional folk poets (âşıks)
• Traditional Turkish folk dances
• Live concerts by surprise guest artists
• Hymns and theatre performances by children from our centre
• Freshly made Turkish coffee and Turkish delight
• Sweet and savoury treats like cotton candy, paper halva, bici bici, corn, and kumpir
• Safe and fun play areas for children
Every year, we welcome 5,000 to 10,000 visitors from Luton, across the UK, and from many different cultures.
