Jens Lynen (°1989) was born in Belgium and started playing the violin at the age of 6. He studied with Guido de Neve in Antwerp and consequently with Krzysztof Smietana and Radu Blidar in London, incorporating the Leverhulme & Robert MacFazdean Whyte scholarships and the prestigious 'Constant and Kit Lambert' Junior Fellowship at the Royal College of Music.

Jens has been a prizewinner at music competitions in Brussels, Padova and London and has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe. Highlights include live appearances on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4 & performances at the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad and the 75th anniversary concert of Messiaen's 'Quartet for the End of Time' at the work camp where the work was conceived and premiered in 1941.

Apart from his chamber music work he is much in demand as a guest leader and principal with orchestras across the UK and Europe and has recorded numerous soundtracks for film and tv productions.

Outside his musical activities, Jens enjoys playing chess, hiking and reading.
