Kwanyee Chan is a London-based Hong Kong-born pianist. After her undergraduate studies in her native city during which she was laureate of the CCA Artistic Excellence Award, she earned her masters degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (GSMD) in London where she studied with Lucy Parham. She has also played in masterclasses by artists such as Ralf Gothóni, Robert McDonald, Nelson Delle-Vigne Fabbri, Michel Beroff and Eugen Indjic.
She has been broadcast on RTHK Radio 4 and has performed internationally at venues such as the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Barbican Centre’s Milton Court in London, Radziejowice Palace in Poland and Palazzo Steri in Italy. More recently, she performed at the 2023 Gijon International Piano Festival in Spain, as well as the 2024 Palermo Classica Winter Festival including Chopin’s 2nd Piano Concerto, which she has also recently played with members of BBC Concert Orchestra.
Being a passionate chamber musician, she plays in a newly-formed Myrthen Trio at the Guildhall, under the guidance of Caroline Palmer and Ursula Smith.
Cyrus Yuen is a violinist based in London who was born in Hong Kong. He began his violin studies at the age of 5, and has performed in Asia, Europe and America as a soloist, recitalist and a chamber musician. Cyrus is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, under Professor Stephanie Gonley. In 2023, Cyrus had the opportunity to perform twice as a soloist with the Sewanee Festival Orchestra in Tennessee, the United States of America, where he played the Brahms Violin Concerto and the Wieniawski Faust Fantasy. Recently, Cyrus also had the opportunity to play in a masterclass for the world-renowned violinist Tasmin Little, he was then awarded the ‘EYMT Norman Harper Prize’ from the generous sponsorships from the ‘Essex Young Musican Trust’ and the ‘Brain and Julie Cue Trust’ to continue support his musical career as a violinist. He has recently also awarded second prize in the 2024 Essex Young Musicians Award.
