Senior Constable Callum Herbert is a member of Tasmania Police Search and Rescue, based in Hobart, with more than 25 years of operational experience across land and maritime environments.Currently attached to the Search and Rescue Office within Marine and Rescue Services, Senior Constable Herbert brings extensive practical knowledge supported by tertiary qualifications, specialist roping skills, and maritime credentials. He is also an instructor on both State and National Search and Rescue courses and has been involved in the management and coordination of numerous Search and Rescue incidents across Tasmania.
In this Lunchtime Talk, Senior Constable Herbert will provide an overview of Tasmania Police’s rescue system, including maritime assets and capabilities, land search and rescue operations, and helicopter support. He will also discuss the technologies used in modern Search and Rescue, with a particular focus on maritime operations.
The talk will conclude with time for questions, including topics such as safety, marine enforcement, and Search and Rescue operations.
