About this Event
Focusing on the sacrarium, the sacred space around the high altar and Cosmati pavement, learn how medieval artists used colour, gilding, and pattern to create a unified and dazzling setting for worship, coronations, and national ceremony at the heart of the Abbey. Find out how these fragile surfaces are conserved today to ensure their survival for future generations.
This event is part of our monthly Lunchtime Talk series. On the second Wednesday of every month, join us at St Margaret’s Church for an in-depth exploration of part of the Abbey’s history.
