Biographies:

Born in Innsbruck, Austria, Christine Schwarzinger began studying the violin at the age of ten at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She studied with Professors Dora Schwarzberg, Michael Schnitzler, and Edward Zienkowski, and took part in master classes with renowned violinists such as Zakhar Bron, Ernst Kovacic and Emil Kamilarov. In addition, she earned a law degree from the University of Vienna.

Christine is a winner and prize winner of national and international competitions, including the International Music Days in Uppsala, Sweden—both as a soloist and as a chamber musician—as well as the Stefanie Hohl Violin Competition at the University of Music Vienna. She has received multiple awards at Austria’s Jugend Musiziert competitions not only as a violinist, but also as a pianist in the chamber music category.

She gave her first performance as a soloist with orchestra at the age of thirteen. Subsequent engagements as a soloist have taken her to the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Festival Internacional de Orquestas de Jóvenes in Murcia, Spain, to Germany and to Sweden.

Christine is particularly active as a chamber musician in various ensembles both in Austria and abroad. Her deep passion for chamber music was sparked during her teenage years by the legendary violinist Sir Yehudi Menuhin, who recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue chamber music as well.

She was, for example, a member of the Villa-Lobos Trio, which specialized in South American repertoire for piano trio and which was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in the “Best Classical Album” category. She has performed in renowned concert halls and concert series, including the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Konzerthaus Klagenfurt (Mozartgemeinde), Jazz Fest Vienna, the Karajan Centrum Vienna, the Argentinian Embassy in Rome, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Berlin, and the Vienna Days in Moscow.

For several of her concerts, she had the opportunity to perform on master violins crafted by Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù, Antonio Stradivari, and Lorenzo Storioni.
