Born and brought up in Punjab, India, Jashandeep Singh Reehal moved to London in 2022 when he was 18 to study and make a career as a Film Composer. He picked up the guitar at the age of 8 but due to dissatisfaction with teachers, he ended up going the self taught route, watching people play in videos and trying to imitate their movements. His interests in composition always inspired him to learn the piano at some point in time but having no access to one back home, he put off the plan. He would watch piano performance clips and synthesia videos and memorize what the player was doing, practicing in air or on a small MIDI keyboard he had lying around. When he moved to London 2 years ago, he had his first experience playing at the Public piano at St Pancras Station and he hasn’t stopped since. He spends all his time outside University learning new pieces, composing and playing at the Stations.
His music is inspired by numerous classic film composers like Ennio Morricone, James Horner, John Barry, Brian Tyler and many more.
Currently finishing his Undergraduate studies in music production for Film and TV, Jashandeep also works as an Orchestrator, collaborating with songwriters and musicians to help bring their Orchestral vision they want for their music to life. He often collaborates with a number of Music software libraries, composing demos for their products.
On top of writing film scores, he aims to go around the world to work with orchestras to conduct and perform music from many of his favorite films.
