Niki Moosavi graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2021 with First Class Honours. In her final year she held the position of Diversity Officer for the Students’ Union. Her work saw changes in curriculum and artistic programming, including curating the first Black History Month concert at RCM. Outside of RCM, she lead the undergraduates group of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Music Studies network (EDIMS). Upon graduating, she received funding to create 97 Ensemble which have gone on to perform at venues such as the Elgar Room, St James’s Piccadilly and Fidelio Café. The ensemble aims to raise awareness that 97% of women aged 18-24 in the UK experience sexual harassment and performs at women and children’s refuges. She also regularly performs with the Chineke! Orchestra, highlights of which include performing in the Concertgebouw and Queen Elizabeth Hall. Niki is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Tim Lowe, supported by a scholarship.

Rachele Howes is studying for her Masters degree in performance with Gabriele Baldocci at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She is delighted to be the recipient of the David Gosling Piano Scholarship, the Jimmie Cross Prize Fund and Trinity College London Scholarship for her outstanding performance ability, demonstrated in her first year of Masters. Rachele graduated from the Royal College of Music with First Class Honours in 2021. She has previously studied under Niel Immelman, Kathron Sturrock and Tessa Nicholson. Rachele is an avid solo performer having played at prestigious venues. A particular highlight for her was performing Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto no.2 with the Richmond orchestra in 2022 and playing in the semifinals in the “City of Vigo International Piano Competition” where she was awarded “Rosalía de Castro” prize for best interpretation of a work by a woman. Rachele enjoys collaborative piano, recently playing Stravinsky “Firebird” on orchestral piano with Trinity Laban orchestra and performing a newly commissioned work with her Piano Quartet. Rachele often collaborates with composers, having premiered works by fellow students Emily Linane and Andrew Mulhern. Rachele is a member of the 97 Ensemble, where recently they collaborated with Faber Books in the launch of “Quartet” by Leah Broad where they played works by Ethel Smyth and Rebecca Clarke. Alongside this, Rachele teaches a private cohort of students and is coordinator for the Croydon Performing Arts Festival.

Niki and Rachele first met whilst pupils at the Purcell School for Young Musicians. Their next performance together is on 6th September in Ampthill Methodist Church, playing works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Henriette Bosmans.
