About this Event
Event Photos

No better way to kick off a business season than to have an event that celebrates community support, mutual aid, and the punk rock attitude of kicking business in the nuts!

Join us for an anti-capitalist SWAP MEET! A chill gathering in Boonton right before their April First Friday event.

This little pre-season gathering will serve to stoke the chaos, clear the closets, and swap things you have become disenchanted with. Not like husbands, more like lamps and spatulas and taffeta prom dresses. I guess you could swap husbands what do I care. But I do have a lot of taffeta prom dresses so be ready for that.

What's happening?

  • A Food Drive contest with prizes!
  • A Swap Meet!
  • A Spell!
  • Lunar Care Mutual Aid Sign-ups!
  • Season Opener Faire Ticket Discount!

While the moon is still in the full moon energy, we will be doing a community strength and abundance spell to gel the faire fam community and set prosperous intentions for the upcoming season! Time TBA

How the swap meet works:
  • Anyone can trade anything that doesn't have a soul! Goods, services, stories, promises, the undead...
  • Except money. No buying anything.
  • You can walk around with your stuff or find a table to put it on or lay out a little blanket or something (space is first come first serve)
  • You can vacate the spot whenever you feel like being done being in it, and anyone else can take that spot
  • You can also walk around with your items in your trench coat or holding them up seeking a proper trade
  • Ok and important: you must take home anything you don't end up trading cause duh

How the Food Drive contest works:
  • Bring supplies or monetary donations to the Loaves and Fishes table
  • Highest donations win prizes! Separate categories for attendees, vendor hopefuls, and active vendors
  • First Prize (attendees): Free 2026 Season Pass, choice of merch item (new hoodies this year!), close parking spot with personalized sign, spin around the faire on a golf cart with the Lunar Chicks
  • Second Prize (attendees): Free entry to the faire of their choice and a t-shirt
  • Third Prize (attendees): Free entry to the faire of their choice
  • First Prize (waitlist vendor): Acceptance as active vendor for 2026 season, free primary spot at faire of their choice, community hero sign for booth
  • Second Prize (waitlist vendor): Acceptance as active vendor for 2026 season, free mid-section spot, community hero sign for booth
  • Third Prize (waitlist vendor): Acceptance as active vendor for 2026 season, free gen-pop spot, community hero sign for booth

All winners receive a shout out on our socials. Here are the items they need the most:

  • Pasta (prize value $2)
  • Tuna (prize value $2)
  • Cereal (prize value $6)
  • Vegetarian Soup (prize value $3)
  • Baby Wipes (prize value $3)
  • Tampons (not pads) (prize value $8)
  • Bar Soap (prize value $1)
  • Shampoo (prize value $6)

This sounds chaotic?

Totally.

What about swapping my own soul?

I guess I can't stop you there.

Do I need a ticket for this free event?

Yes! Because the interest is surprisingly high and we have a ticket cap!

Can I help you out with anything?

Yes, actually! We have a couple things we're seeking volunteers for. Here's the form!

Will you do this ever again?

Sure, if you guys like it! Let us know by posting about it, swapping swap stories, commenting, the usual stuff.

What about food?

Boonton has a ton of extremely good restaurants a block away on Main Street. Plus, it's First Friday so they will be set up along the street probably.

Parking

There is a small lot at the Boonton Elks Club and any overflow is street parking. Some is metered, some isn't.

OK BUT WHEN IS THE FIRST FAIRE OF THE SEASON!!!???
