About this Event
Luke Brueck Seeley's Remote Control features five of London's most promising instrumentalists, showcased in the drummer-composer's no-frill's compositions. Luke hails from Ipswich, Suffolk, and is in his final year at the Guildhall School of Music, studying under the tutelage of renowned musicians and professors including James Maddren, Dr Trish Clowes, Tom Farmer and more. He primarily draws on the playing of the great post-bop drummers Tony Williams and Jack DeJohnette as well as the modern innovators Tyshawn Sorey, Justin Brown and Kweku Sumbry.
His compositions rely on precise and stripped back counterpoint between two or three lines, orchestrated simply and elegantly to allow for the flair of the stellar ensemble he has built around him.
Expect unusual and unpredictable interplay between the musicians and the compositions, built on deep study of the tradition of jazz music.
