About this Event
🕊️ Love Letters to the Unloved Beings – A Creative Writing Workshop 🕊️
What if you could see beauty in the creatures most people overlook — or even avoid? In this workshop led by poet and nature connection guide Lizzie Elliot-Klein, you’ll explore empathy, curiosity, and wonder through writing that celebrates the often-maligned beings we share our cities with — from seagulls and rats to weeds and spiders.
Through fact-sharing, gentle mindfulness exercises, and guided writing prompts, you’ll be invited to craft your own love letter to one of these “unloved” creatures, reframing your perspective and discovering surprising connections. Inspired by Nicolette Sowder’s poem May We Raise Children Who Love the Unloved Things, this session blends storytelling, nature appreciation, and poetic play in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
Open to adults and young people aged 10+ (with a responsible adult), this workshop welcomes everyone — from curious beginners to experienced poets — to find joy in the overlooked and beauty in the unexpected.
