On 16 May, we invite hobbyists of all experience levels to share their work in a supportive, community-driven environment that honours both skill and imagination.
Competition Categories
Individual Miniature
Single model on a base up to 50mm.
Open Category
Larger pieces including dioramas, busts, mounted models, vehicles, or display works.
Each category features two awards:
The Steady Hand Award
Judged by experienced guest painters, this award recognises technical execution — precision, brush control, layering, blending, finish, and overall craftsmanship.
The Open Mind Award
Selected by Tabletop Support, this award celebrates creativity, originality, storytelling, and artistic courage.
At Lost in Layers, we honour two essential parts of the painting journey — the steady hand and the open mind. Focus and freedom. Discipline and imagination.
Whether you paint for competition or for calm, this event is about recognising the care, time, and intention behind every layer.
A small fee of $5 per entry submitted, with funds being used for prizes and future mental health initiatives.
