Tickets: £10This workshop will introduce participants to the dramatic monologue. In this most theatrical of genres, the poet’s voice is not their own. It is characters who speak and in speaking, reveal to us – their listeners – their desires, their secrets and in one mysterious case, how exactly they came across a recipe for “smooth, seedless gooseberry sorbet”.
In this workshop, we’ll consider examples of contemporary dramatic monologues and, following group discussion and writing prompts, go about writing our own.
