London Writers' Cafe is the UK's most active community for fiction writers with 4,400 members, offering special events, seminars & socials for emerging writers of fiction since 2006. Best yet, it is free to join our community to see how we roll. We accept fiction of all genres but we aren't interested in memoir, essays or any kind of non-fiction. In our feedback workshops, three writers volunteer to read their work at the table for live feedback, advice and encouragement from the group. It's live and on the spot but it really works. Critique is always constructive, respectful, practical and moderated by your host.
Most people come along to a few sessions before reading their own piece to see how we work, the standard of writing, the type of feedback received but it's up to you. We think you'll be surprised by how much you can learn by listening to writing and feedback of others.
Level: This event is for writers of novels and short stories at any point in the writing, redrafting and revising stage.
Date & Timing: 6:45pm to 9:30pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. Please aim to arrive on time as we'll start at 6:45pm prompt. We'll adjourn to the main bar after the session for a few social drinks and conversation but no problem if you can't hang around.
Location: Williamsons Tavern, 1 Groveland Ct, London EC4M 9EH, located in a courtyard off Bow Lane in Cheapside, closest stations are Bank or Moorgate. Grab a drink at the bar (they have all the drinks) and come to the room downstairs. Please don't bring any outside food or drink.
Cost: £10.50 to pay for venue hire, fees, event organising and hosting. Refunds or credits will only be offered if the event is rescheduled or cancelled by admin. Thank you for your understanding. Please book a ticket online before attending this event. We don't sell any places on the door. These workshops are normally attended by 10-15 people.
