Join us for a fun FREE afternoon sharing curious, unusual and fascinating objects from garden history! All welcome!
About this Event

Bring along any item that others may like to see - books, photographs, manuscripts, letters, plans, postcards, tools, toys, drawings … anything linked in some way to the history of gardens and other designed landscapes. It could be an object you have researched and want to share - or something you know little about and would love to hear the views of others.

We won’t be offering valuations - but we will give you the chance to explain your object, and to hear comments, ideas and suggestions from others. You can stand up in front of the audience (and we’ll have a laptop and screen available for those who’d like to show a couple of slides about their item) or share more informally as we mingle over tea and coffee.

Don’t worry if you don’t have anything to bring. Just come along and enjoy the afternoon!

It will be helpful, when you book your place, to tell us what item(s) you intend to share, so we can plan the event. We will include a question on the order form. But don’t worry if inspiration only strikes after you have booked - you can still turn up with an object for discussion.

Please feel free to bring any items that you think will be interesting to others - however battered, offbeat or mysterious - but for safety’s sake please don’t choose anything too large or heavy for you to carry unaided, items which pose a hazard (e.g. open knives, noxious chemicals), or anything of great personal or financial value.

The event is FREE to attend, but space is limited, and booking is essential to reserve your spot. We’ll be offering tea and cake, for which a small donation on the day would be welcome.

This ticket is for an ONSITE, live event at The Alan Baxter Gallery, 77 Cowcross Street, London EC1M 6EJ. The event is free, but booking is essential. . Online ticket sales close 4 hours before the event. Doors open at 2.30 pm, the event lasts until 4.30pm.
