About this Event
We start and end this 7 mile circular walk at Canary Wharf. It features a host of well known locations in the former Docks. These include the Cutty Sark tea clipper, the East London dock which built parts for the D Day mulberry harbours, the island development in the River Lea, a traffic lights tree, and a walk through the Greenwich foot tunnel. In addition to that, a significant section of the walk follows the Thames Path to the lunch stop at the O2 North Greenwich.
An attention point is that after leaving the O2, we use the tube for one stop to cross back to the North Bank of the Thames. So please bring your contactless cards to cover the fares for this single tube journey. The estimated time includes the lunch stop. You have the opportunity to leave at many locations, but we hope you will stay for the whole route. Note that we meet at the West entrance to Canary Wharf tube station - near the curved canopy.
The museum of Docklands is located at Canary Wharf, so you have the option of visiting this leading museum at the end of the walk.
