About this Event
Join these free, friendly writing sessions with a prize-winning local author and teacher of poetry and fiction, on the theme of ‘love’ (in the broadest sense of the word), from romantic comedy to celebrations of family, food, and home. Workshops will provide reading for inspiration, refreshments, and writing time, resulting in a collection of local love stories and poems by the community. Everyone has a love story.
Workshop leader: Becky Varley-Winter’s most recent books are Dangerous Enough (Salt, 2023) and a collection of love stories, BLOOM (Broken Sleep Books, 2021). Dangerous Enough was longlisted for the Laurel Prize 2024 and she’s won the T.R. Henn and Brewer Hall prizes for poetry. She teaches creative writing for the Poetry School and Morley College, London, amongst other teaching and editing work.
