About this Event
These Queer Caminata events are curated with the intention of providing a much needed safe space for queer, trans and questioning folx. If you do not identify as such, please be mindful and we encourage you to look at other Latino Outdoors events.
Join us on Sunday March 15th at the Hidden Villa Morgan Pavilion/Parking Lot at 10:00am.
Hike begins at 10:30am follwed by garden time and medicine making.
We will begin the day with a 1.25 mile hike to tap into the changing rhythm of spring. Then we will spend intentional time in the garden drawing and writing about our chosen plant ally. The day will wrap up with calling in the knowledge of our elders and ancestors through plant stories before making herbal protection medicine such as smudge sticks and herbal oils for the skin.
Hike: Shorty Bunny Loop: 1.25-mile loop; steep 250′ elevation gain
Garden Grounding: We will spend time in the garden to spend time with the plants in the garden, you are invited to journal or draw with a plant that you are drawn to.
Medicine Making: We will share stories of plant medicines passed down from our communities before making smudge bundles and herbal oil for the skin. Our medicine making will focus on plants for protection such as romero.
