Hello Marauders!Something a bit different for us this week and thanks again to Lee for organising this point-to-point walk which will see us catching the train from Llantwit Major to Rhoose and walking the 8.5 miles back.
So, we'll me meeting at Llantwit Major train station in plenty of time to catch the 9.54 train to Rhoose. We'll arrive at 10.04 and start our walk from here. Our route will take us down to the coastal path and through Fontygary Holiday Park towards Leys Beach. We'll pass by the Aberthaw Power Station, Limpert Bay, Gileston and towards Summerhouse Point before turning inland towards Boverton and back along the main road to Llantwit Major.
You will need to buy your own one-way ticket for the train journey. This can be done on the platform on the day or beforehand online. Cost is £2.70.
This is a level 8 on our Marauders walk scale given the distance. The paths are mostly in good condition with a short section taking us on to a pebble beach. Please make sure that you're OK to walk the full distance back.
As usual wear weather appropriate clothing and suitable shoes. Bring a drink and snack with you too.
