About this Event
Living with Loss: Queer & Beloved is a grief gathering created especially for LGBTQ+ people and our chosen family — a space where your story is honored, your tears are welcome, and your belovedness is never up for debate.
Grief in queer life can carry unique layers. Some of us grieve partners, friends, parents, or mentors. Some grieve relationships strained by rejection. Some carry the quiet ache of spiritual harm, lost communities, or faith that once felt safe. Others are grieving the state of our world — the weight of political attacks, anti-trans legislation, violence, or the exhaustion of constantly having to defend our dignity. And many of us are holding multiple losses at once.
This gathering is for you if:
- You are navigating the death of someone you love.
- You are grieving family rejection or complicated relationships.
- You have experienced spiritual trauma or church harm.
- You feel overwhelmed by the collective grief in our LGBTQ+ community.
- You simply need a place where you don’t have to explain yourself.
Together we will create a gentle, guided space for reflection, storytelling, prayer or meditation (if desired), and quiet connection. There is no fixing here. No rushing. No forced positivity. Just room to breathe, to name what hurts, and to remember that grief is not a sign of weakness — it is a reflection of love.
At Living with Loss: Queer & Beloved, we practice what we preach: you are worthy of care. You are worthy of community. You are worthy of being held in your fullness — sorrow and all.
Come as you are. Your grief belongs here.
