About this Event
Join us for a special live recording of WPFW 89.3 FM’s acclaimed radio show, The Collision: Sports and Politics examining Mayor Bowser’s controversial approach to policing in Washington, DC.
This powerful conversation features Afeni, who drew national attention after protesting outside Mayor Bowser’s home, and Jamari Khalif, whose viral encounter with DC police sparked widespread outrage and renewed conversations around policing and harassment in the city.
Hosted by Etan Thomas, Chuck Modiano, and Dave Zirin, the evening will explore protest, public safety, youth criminalization, and political accountability in DC.
The program will also feature spoken word performances from Prince George’s County youth poets Olachi Akachi and Sarae Payne, bringing artistry, reflection, and resistance into the space.
FREE and open to all. We encourage guests to RSVP to receive event updates directly from Busboys and Poets.
