
About this Event
Friday evening, September 12th, Kristal Parke will screen her powerful documentary, Because She's Adopted, at the DeLaski Theater inside the Sitar Arts Center. This will begin at 6:00 PM. After, we’ll gather for food and connection nearby (details to follow).
Saturday, September 13th Damon Davis of the Who Am I Really? podcast will be kicking things off as the day's emcee and moderator!We will begin mid-day, starting at noon, with Susan Kiyo Ito’s one-woman performance, The Ice Cream Gene, followed by a Live Recorded Podcast with Sarah & Louise (guest TBD). Then we’ll host a panel featuring:
- Gabrielle Glaser, author of American Baby
- A.M. Homes, author of The Mistress’s Daughter
- Gregory Luce, of The Adoptee Rights Law Center
- Susan Kiyo Ito, author of I Would Meet You Anywhere
- Kristal Parke, creator of Because She's Adopted
- Ken DeStefano, I Will See You Again: Hearts Will Sing
- ...and more to be announced!
We’ll conclude the day with the incredibly moving one-woman performance of Un-M-Othered by Dr. Liz DeBetta.
Note: We will head to a bar or restaurant after the event, Saturday night, to gather (TBD)
There will be community, connection, and conversation for all.
