Formed in 2017 after the release of some original songs by front man Tim Jones (vocals, guitar), Loose Roosters have been a high country staple ever since. The band blends Appalachian sensibilities with a modern Americana sound to craft songs that capture life in our time. Longtime collaborators Chris Capozzoli (guitar, vocals), Dirk Brown (drums) and Ben McPherron (bass) make up the core of the group. The band just put out a new project. "Dry Land" is a record about storms. Most of the songs reference the sea, boats, sailing or destruction. Written after the tumultuous time of the Covid-19 pandemic and immediate aftermath, this record deals with how we come through storms in our lives. In the face of so many storms both natural and manmade in our world today, "Dry Land" hopes to offer the listener some respite.
