Live Music and Yoga at the Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room

Start your Sunday with an uplifting session of music and yoga

Join musician Andrew Barney and yoga teacher Nu Caratella for the second instalment of their unique collaboration interweaving music, movement, breath and vibration to call in the new month and celebrate the full moon.

Supported by the LCR Race Equality Hub as part of the Creatives Collective programme, this is an event for those who identify as Black and Global Majority , celebrating collaboration, community and the joy of music and movement for healing and connection.

NOTE: Entrance to Music Room is around the back of the Phil on Sugnall street.

"First yoga session, that was held at the Music Room in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic was very special for multiple reasons. Beforehand, it was apparent from stepping into the door that I was very much welcome in the space, which was a very important thing for me as I have never tried yoga before. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The session itself was really relaxing. It was a stressful time of the year for me as I was preparing for auditions at the time. Taking part in the yoga session relaxed my mind and released a lot of the tension that I was holding in my body. The highlight was the masterful display of piano improvisation that was performed throughout the session. I noticed as Andrew was improvising, he was able to feel the energy in the room, of the people taking part and the yoga instructor. Hearing what she was saying about the mind and the body in the moment and matching that through music, which was really impressive to me. It was a great experience overall and I'm looking forward to the next one."
