On Friday 26 September, Friday 31 October and Friday 21 November we present new concerts of our beloved Gypsy JAZZ events, bringing us back to the 1930s of Paris.You will love the energetic, joyful and fast swinging tunes of gypsy jazz, which will be brought to you by the brilliant Hot Club of guitar players Jaïr Stunt and Tessa Spaaij. Gypsy jazz emerged in the 1930s in Paris within the Sinti communities. It’s a melting pot of French musette, American swing and gypsy music - and the first jazz style to emerge in Europe.
Gypsy jazz is inspired by the famous Sinti jazz guitarist Jean “Django” Reinhardt. Reinhardt was a virtuoso player on the acoustic guitar. Together with the French jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli, Reinhardt formed their group the Quintette du Hot Club de France.
In our Gypsy JAZZ concert series we bring the 1930s gypsy jazz vibe of Paris to the historic city center of The Hague. Do not hesitate and book a ticket for this great live jazz event! To make the evening even more memorable, we serve some 1930s classic cocktails.
