Created by readers and for readers, the litty book club is a bi-monthly function and a welcoming space for strong opinions and lively conversation around a curation of litty’s prospects — newly published books the litty team believe have the best chances of ending up on critics’ end of year lists.
Join us as we dive into by Yi-Ling Liu, a gripping and deeply reported exploration of China’s internet firewall and the communities pushing back against it. Blending contemporary politics, culture, and human stories of resistance, the book has been praised by Jonathan Blitzer as a “masterwork” and compared to past litty selections like Some People Need Killing by Patricia Evangelista.
