You are invited to The Center Project's dedication ceremony for our Youth Garage! Our Youth Garage--a space for LGBTQIA+ youth to learn, grow, and be themselves--will be named after Linda and Clayton Hayes to honor the work they did to make Columbia a safer place for LGBTQIA+ youth throughout the 90s and 2000s. Please join us at The Center Project (805 Fairview Ave) on May 2nd at 11am for dedication speeches followed by light refreshments. We will be joined by the family of Linda and Clayton Hayes, including Clayton and their children.
We thank all the individual donors who made this possible! We also thank the Boone County Children's Services Fund for funding year-round programming for LGBTQIA+ youth in Boone County, the Community Foundation of Central Missouri for funding the furnishings for the garage, the Boone Electric Community Trust for funding the flooring, Adrienne Luther Johnson for donating the youth-led mural, and the Veterans United Foundation for funding the original renovations.
