Chicago for Chicagoans is delighted to announce a brand-new walking tour for 2025: the Lincoln Belmont District! Led by Roscoe Village aficionado and local history enthusiast Barry Love, this tour will take you on an adventure through this quirky little section of far west Lakeview.
Beginning at Paulina Brown Line, the tour will cover local history and architecture -- from classic Chicago housing styles, to the trials and tribulations of local businesses and obscure stories of years gone by. As you walk, you'll learn about Olympic champions, civil rights, bizarre local landmarks, a secret tunnel, and tragic neighborhood love affairs, as pulled from historic archives and retold with excitement! The afternoon will end at beloved local eatery Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar, where participants are encouraged to join their fellow tour-takers for a delicious glass of wine or light bite.
Chicago for Chicagoans happily exists as a "pay-what-you-can" tour service. A suggested tip of $10-20 per person is always appreciated, but reviewing us on Yelp, liking us on Facebook, spreading the word, and attending future tours tells us how much you love us too!
