Lightwaves Salford is back - and you’re invited! This popular light art extravaganza is for visitors of all ages looking for a dazzling evening with a difference. Taking place Thursday 4th – Sunday 7th December 2025, from 4pm-10pm, Lightwaves Salford is completely FREE to attend and no booking required.
Wrap up warm and come down to experience Salford Quays and MediaCity in a new light. This year Lightwaves Salford features 12 illuminated artworks, of different sizes and themes, using light, sound and technology to create a mesmerizing experience.
The illuminated artworks are dotted around a route that is around 1.5 km in total - all fully accessible - around MediaCity and Salford Quays. But you can do as much or as little as you want and there will be plenty for families and to delight younger visitors. Dogs are welcome too but must be kept on a lead as it can get very busy.
