Welcome to Weaving Spirits: Lighting Design Workshop! Join us for an evening of creativity and inspiration as we delve into the world of lighting design.
This workshop is for QTBIPOC who are interested in designing lighting for their live productions or who would like to learn more about designing professionally
✧ Lighting Design is a process that starts with a big artistic vision and then turns into tiny detailed plans. In this workshops you'll practice going from details to one living, breathing painting!
Get ready to explore different ways to weave light and shadow to create stunning visual effects!

This workshop is only open to BIPOC folks who are themselves LGBTQ2S+, or who know how to hold love and respect for LGBTQ2S+ folks.
Please don't sign up if you are white or are uncomfortable around queer folks.
About the workshop facilitator , Weaving Spirits Festival's Tech Director :
Grisel GG Torres (they/them) is from the Bay Area by way of migrant parents from Leon, Guanajuato, México. GG studied Light Design, Technical Theatre, Stage Management, and Props Design at SFSU’s School of Theatre and Dance.
GG has collaborated and crafted designs/dream scapes with PUSH Dance Company, Jose E. Abad, Maurya Kerr, Ishmael Jones, Kularts, Catherine Galasso, Keith Hennessy, and Sara Shelton Mann.
They also likes to write melodies, paint, DJ, and create movement-based performance art.
