About this Event
Life Drawing
Ever wanted to try Life Drawing, but not sure where to start?
Life drawing is the practice of drawing the human figure from a live model. Artists have been doing it for thousands of years - and you can try it too.
Whether you're a complete beginner, a little rusty, or more experienced, you'll be supported to start exactly where you are.
This relaxed, supportive class will be led by professional teacher and artist Susannah Pal of the drawing school Now, Draw!
‘Just wanted to say - your Life Drawing class this weekend was bloody brilliant. The energy, the warmness, everyone feeling comfortable enough to just create! That's genuinely rare and special. Thank you for creating something so warm and alive, Susannah - can't wait for future classes!’ - Sian
What to expect:
A calm, focused two-hour life drawing session
Tips, encouragement, and 1:1 feedback offered throughout from Susannah, lead teacher at Now, Draw
A welcoming atmosphere with time to settle in and draw
The class will be suitable for all levels - whether you’re completely new to Life Drawing or a practicing artist, but you do need to be over 18.
If you are under 18 you are welcome to join us but please ask a parent or guardian to email us in advance to confirm they understand that Life Drawing involves working from a nude model.
Materials - If you’d prefer to travel light, you can use an A2 drawing board, and five sheets of A2 paper and a range of materials such as pencils, charcoal, and felt tips included in the ticket price. These are loaned for the session and must be returned at the end. Your drawings, of course, are yours to keep. If you wish to use more sheets, please bring 20p per extra sheet. You are welcome to bring your own materials if they are easy to clear up, if in doubt, get in touch.
Please arrive around 10 minutes before the start time so you can settle in, and get set up ready to begin at the start time.
