About this Event

TCGM is excited to invite the community to celebrate our 10th anniversary with a captivating new exhibit entitled "Life Doesn't Frighten Me… Anymore" at Philadelphia City Hall through May 16th.

“Life Doesn’t Frighten Me… Anymore” draws inspiration from the powerful poem and striking book by Maya Angelou, beautifully illustrated by Jean-Michel Basquiat. The showcase features a diverse array of new artists, alongside many inaugural artists who have contributed to The Colored Girls Museum over the past decade, creating a tapestry of creative voices.

Each carefully curated display in the exhibit illuminates themes from our past showcases, inviting visitors to reflect on the rich narratives woven through the experiences of women and girls of the African diaspora.
