About this Event
Join Forest Bathing & Wellness founder and naturalist Gina Ruiz for a slow, interpretive walk exploring one of nature’s most fascinating partnerships: lichen—a living collaboration of fungus, algae, and sometimes bacteria.
Lichens paint our rocks and trees in subtle colors, filtering air, building soil, and reminding us that survival often means cooperation. This short, immersive walk offers a chance to see them up close and learn their stories.
During this 90-minute experience, you’ll:
🪶 Learn how lichens thrive through vivid imagery and field interpretation that brings their quiet world to life.
🔍 Use hand lenses to explore 5–7 local species on rock and bark.
🚶♀️ Enjoy a gentle walk under 0.5 miles, with time for observation and discovery.
Perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and the simply curious. No prior experience needed—just bring water, comfortable shoes, and a sense of wonder.
This is a community-supported event designed to make participation accessible while valuing the time and care that go into creating it.
This event is donation-based. Your contribution helps support future community nature programs and the time and care that go into creating them. Suggested donation: $10–$30.
“To notice a lichen is to see collaboration made visible.”
