This April, Double Trouble celebrates the working class with 18 wheels of mayhem. Burning rubber, sipping on a cold one, and screwing over the rich! From the gritty streets of the 1970s to the sleek back roads of the late 90s. It's a lifestyle that stays the same the more things change.*White Line Fever (1975)
Described by co-writer/director Jonathan Kaplan (Truck Turner, The Accused, Unlawful Entry) as a "modern-day Western with trucks instead of horses." Jan-Michael Vincent is Carrol Jo Hummer. Who after returning from Vietnam has married the love of his life. Wanting to make a life for his new family he joins a shady trucking company run by Slim Pickens. After refusing to get his hands dirty, Carrol is hunted and harassed by goons and things. Until the moment this working man has had enough! With a great country soundtrack, fantastic truck crashes, with lots of beer and denim. This a total crowd pleaser for anyone whose worked a physical 9 to 5.
*Black Dog (1998)
Directed by Kevin Hooks of 'Passenger 57' fame. Patrick Swayze is Jack Crews, an ex-con whose given a golden opportunity to drive a truck cross country off the books for a fat payday. But when the ATF, FBI and rival criminals start chasing Crews and the payload. It's clear there's more to the job than an A to B trip. With a bizarre cast of Swayze, Randy Travis, Meat Loaf, Stephen Tobolowsky and Charles S. Dutton. Along with being one of the last car centric action movies to use all practical stunts and pyrotechnics. A satisfying throwback that's a barrel of laughs with the usual Double Trouble crowd.
