A rare sequel that's better than the original. An extremely loose retelling of the Defeo family murders that inspired the book that inspired the original 1979 film. But rather than be a boring slog like that movie was. This goes for broke with a total commitment to sleaze, shock and real taboo subject matter. Directed by eruocrime journeyman Damiano Damiani in his only English language film. This is one of my personal favorite films Double Trouble has ever screened.
*Ghosthouse (1988)
Umberto Lenzi is back with a vengeance! There's a very vague plot about radio ghost hunters, an evil mortician, killer clowns and death himself shows up. That doesn't matter. What does is this being produced by Troll 2 producer Joe D'Amato. Part time horror director and full time pornographer. His influence is felt all over this with the bad/confused acting choices, slapdash production and heavy tonal shifts. But the result is a delightfully stupid and extremely entertaining watch!
